I lived in Philadelphia, New Jersey area for quite a while, and whenever the seasons would switch, even though I'm like, You all live in the northeast, you know what to expect every year with the winter weather, right? Nope, no, they all just turn into a bunch of goofballs driving on the road as though they've never driven in snow or inclement weather before. Always a blast. Rem, so for today's conversation, I got some good news. Trump won, and we're putting some really good folks into positions of power in his cabinet. Some not so great news. Some of those folks have already started to withdraw. And one of those folks was somebody you and I, I think we're very excited about, and that is one attorney general nominee, Matt gates. And Matt gates ended up saying, Never mind. He pulled himself out of consideration after there was a ethics complaint that had been filed back when he was in Congress. It was going through the motions there over the past few years, and of course, now that he was being officially nominated to Attorney General, the report comes out or, well, it doesn't really come out. It's leaked out. And the report is Matt gates apparently, allegedly paid 17 year old, 18 year old women to engage in some questionable acts of maybe sexual proclivity in nature, but then with that, pulling himself out of consideration. And now it appears that Pam Bondi, it's Florida's first female attorney general. Now she's going to DC, possibly remzo to take on the same role. But I know there's a lot of question marks that you know, folks in the conservative world. Folks in the libertarian world have here with Pam Bondi remzo, tell us, the good, the bad, the ugly and all that in between.

The ugly is that somebody was playing some 40 chess right there. So gates wins re election sounded Lee to Florida's fifth, Fifth Congressional seat. Then he goes ahead and gets nominated for attorney general. In doing so he has to resign his seat. So unlike a Senate seat, which is statewide, they've got to do a special election, and now he withdraws. So now he is no longer going to be part of the upcoming Congress, and he's also not going to be attorney general.

confusion is, you. Because I think it was they, they said that he resigned officially for the 100 and 18th Congress. The Congress coming in is the 100 and 19th Congress. So I think that's where the question mark is. Right now for Matt Gaetz is in his actual seat because his wife

has been putting out like these really cryptic messages and stuff. And like these, these photos of Ashi or jokingly calling him unemployed. So it very much looks like he is out for the upcoming Congress. And interesting. I mean, at that point, it's like, why even stay? Why even stay? Because, you know, with Republicans like these, who needs Democrats, no one is surprised that every Republican nominee, and I know gates is controversial for whatever reasons. But it's like, you know, all these nominees are going to be put to the Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence, Thomas type of, you know, standard, which is just attack them incessantly. You know, with Linda McMahon, they're going to go ahead and go after her husband. They're going to go ahead and bring out all the WWE, you know, sexual assault cases and everything else, and they're going to want her to, you know, say she believes all women and all this type of shit. And it's just not going to be good. But the fact that gates is, you know, for all intents and purposes, like Out, out, it doesn't, it doesn't seem like this is what I thought we would be dealing with not even three weeks after this sweeping victory. And I think it's so funny when it's like these, these fucking loser, I'm sorry, you know, I start that way this morning. These, these fucking loser Republicans, Graham McConnell Murkowski, and the other one from Maine. It's like they're the ones who are trying to tell Trump how to lead a government. It's like you understand the reason why Republicans had a sweeping majority is because Trump was on the ballot. When Trump is on the ballot, Republicans win overwhelmingly when Trump is not on the ballot. That's a problem, and there are going to be some people who bring up 2020, 2020, was a fluke because of, like, we could talk about that another day, but you know, for the most part, it's like McConnell's out the door. These others know that they're going to be primaried the shit out of at this point for what they're doing. It is a, is a case of, okay, like it's not good enough to beat the Democrats, but now we have to beat the Republicans. And I say this in a way which is very much, you know, we've said it over the past five, six months. This is not your granddad's Republican Party. You know, notice who was not at the RNC in July. You didn't have Paul Ryan. Have met Romney. You didn't have, you know, the usual folks, you didn't have bush or whatever. And now they hadn't been at the last couple but, like, it was, it was made clear again that they're still not there because they're not welcome. And for these Republicans, like Graham, for you know, Graham, for example, who's like, telling him, like, oh, publicly, oh, you're making this mistake. And then when he picks somebody that he likes, like, Wow, you did such a great job. It's like, Who are you to tell him what, what he should and should not do? And if anything, I think it was Tommy turville from Alabama, the Alabama Senator, who is basically like, why are we treating ourselves like this when Biden, when Biden was appointing his 22 primary cabinet positions, he faced zero Democrat opposition. Why is it that and and keep in mind, Republicans also voted for a couple of Biden's people too. Lindsey Graham has always given the president, regardless of who the president is, what they want. He was one of the key Republican votes for Soto mayor, and he said that he would have voted for Merrick Garland. Should Obama have had, you know, appointed him to the scotusi as he was trying to pressure people to do as Obama was leaving after Scalia died. So this is just, this is so unnecessary. This is so unnecessary. And the truth is, is that gates would have been the nominee, if not for four Republicans. It was four Republicans that did this. They kept saying that, you know, no one was going to end up voting for him. No, all it took was four. It took four because we got 53 Republican majority, and they knew they could screw it over, and it's those swing votes, and that is one of those situations where it's like, Come on, give him who he wants. If he's not good, he's not good, he'll get replaced. None of these people right now, like, let's not get twisted. None of these cabinet appointees are going to be around in two years. The lifespan just doesn't happen for a lot of these positions, which is why I'm also, you know, I haven't said anything online about hegseth. I don't know how I feel about Pete. Hegseth is sec def. I spoke with some folks that used to work directly with him, and. They're like, you know, it's an optics thing. It's try and get the nerds in the room to try and actually cut the Pentagon budget while hegseth deals with the slings and arrows. But you know, it's also like, I'm not gonna save shit publicly, because it's like, if Trump wants him, let him have him, because he's probably gonna be one of three Secretary of defenses we have over the next four years. So let's just see how it works out. He wouldn't be the worst. I was a soldier when, when Panetta was, what was SEC death, when I forget that one Republican now, Obama, like, kept for like, three months. I think his name was Hagel, Chuck Hagel. Hagel was the token Republican who was SEC deaf, and he was like, you know, maybe we shouldn't be all woke with the soldiers, and the bomb was like, You're fired. And then I had Ash Carter, who was like, you know, let's go ahead and pay for trans surgeries funded by Justin Amash. That's another thing. But it's, it's just, it's, it's just, it's so unnecessary, it's so freaking unnecessary that this is even an issue we have to deal with right now. Give Trump who he wants.

So I I'm kind of, I don't want to say I'm splitting the baby here. I think I am more so I'm just playing politics, because when you look at the ideal versus the the realistic outcome, right? And we talked about this back before the election happened, not talking about strategic voting theory, right? Yeah, it's not that you're going to get a 10 out of 10 in terms of outcomes. And by the way, this is just a a note to all the small l, Big L libertarians, the small c conservatives who are freaking out over a specific appointment saying, Well, see, you didn't get everything you wanted, no shit. That's not how it works, right? That's not what we expected. When I see folks like Jay Bhattacharya or I see folks like Elon Musk or Vivek Ramaswamy or Ron Paul starting to have more and more of a seat at the table, that's more of the win for me than just getting every single person I could possibly want into these different positions. And I just, I think there has to be kind of a recalibration of what winning looks like for a lot of these more principled and then, by the way, this is not to say that being principled is not important. Being principled is absolutely important. That's supposed to be your guiding star, but it has to be a guiding star that you then take out of your ideal and apply it to the real world, right? And looking at those four senators that you very rightly outlined remzo as being really the folks standing in the way of giving us someone like a matt gates, that's politics, right? We have to kind of acknowledge that that was an inevitable feature. It's not a bug, it's a feature of the system. You're going to have people both on the the opposing side, but also on your own side, who are going to give you pushback. As a matter of fact, you look back to the Libertarians in the again, small l libertarians that were in Congress back in 2016 through 2020, and then 2020 through 2020, or rather, 20, yeah, 2016 through 2020 a lot of those voices, like a Thomas Massey, for example, or like a Rand Paul, were not necessarily thorns in the side of the Republican majority, but definitely voices of dissent and leaning back towards those guiding principles. Now that's not to say that. Well, who are they? They need to jump, jump in and lock step agree with every proposal. No, but it is important to understand that it's a game of politics, right, and we're not going to get everything we want. And we were talking about this before the election happened, right? If you have a coalition of folks like an RFK JR and a Tulsi Gabbard and a Nicole Shanahan, right with folks like a JD Vance or a Josh Hawley or a Tom cotton or a Tucker Carlson, or folks like a Rand Paul, a Thomas Massie, a Ron Paul of a vague Ramaswamy, or folks like an Elon Musk or a JD diamond or name or your Theo keywords

what was that? Oh, I got you, yeah, but, like, think about it right, when we look at that coalition of folks from a principled standpoint, right? Like first principles, they are vastly different, but when it comes to the coalition of understanding the moment we are in as a country, and understanding that we have to be able to work together to accomplish the bigger goals, right? And we talk about this like in strategic voting, is winning 80% of what you're looking to accomplish better than winning 0% without a doubt, right? So instead of saying, Well, what about that 20% and just being a big bitch about it, and, you know, constantly complaining and looking at this saying you're not getting everything you thought, guess you guys got fooled, it's like, no, that's called real life. That's called reality, where I get out of a Facebook group and I apply my principles to the real world, in the real world of politics, right? Not where I'm going to get every single thing I want. And this is the part where, again, libertarians, I know I've been picking on libertarians a lot, but there is this just incessant. Um, focus on being right versus being effective. And you look at these libertarians in these, these Facebook groups and and in these online bubbles, they they are preaching to the choir, right? They're telling you how it should be. That's great. I love your vision of how things should be for the most cases, but definitely areas I disagree. But with that being said, Okay, great. Now take what you you are telling me is the best option, the best outcomes, and sell it. Oh, you can't and, oh, there is no magic wand to implement your ideas 100% because if there was, we all know what that that's called. And starts the D and ends with ater dictator ship. And that is not at all in line with libertarian ideals, unless, again, we go back to well, what would be the best way to get libertarian ideas in? You have a benevolent dictator like a Ron Paul right, who puts libertarianism into policy or into practice. That's not real life, and we have to get out of the what real life is, and what we want it to be. And understand that the vision we have as small libertarians, as right as you may be, and as wonderful the outcome may be, you have to make it fit into a real world.

You know, Ron Paul was never against, you know, pork spending was a big topic in 2012 and it was Santorum and a couple others who are going after Paul because he was not against eliminating, you know, certain he was not, he was not against, he was not for the limitation of earmark spending by the House of Representatives. And what that means is the amount of stuff that you could put into bills that are not exactly aligned, like, you know, if it's a save the whale bill, and you're trying to, like, you know, like bomb Yemen, those things could be in there, right? What Ron Paul would do because, you know, he also had to get reelected and make his district happy in Texas, is he would go ahead and put in the necessary funds that he wanted to take out of the federal government and bring back to his district, and then he would still vote no on the bill he did. So, so that way, you know, if, in most cases, he knew he wasn't going to win, but he could take a principled stance. He could sit on the floor and talk about how he wanted, you know, to, you know, Ban, you know, get get rid of some stupid ban. Or he was against this type of spending all the right things. It wasn't the show, but His thing was, like, listen, it was going to pass anyway. I might as well bring some money that would otherwise just disappear in the federal government and bring it back to my district. He was very upfront about that, yeah, and it's one of those things where it's like, okay, he knows that this bill is going to pass. He doesn't want to say he wants to support this bill, because it goes against the ideas of liberty and it's unconstitutional, and all the things a good doctor would say. But he knows that he also has to deliver stuff to his district, and if it doesn't go his district, it's probably gonna build like a 15 million gas station in Iraq. Yep. So he was like, I might as well see what I could do with it. And very much like this, but in this situation, it's like, you know, the Republicans like the Halley's of the world, and thank god she's not anywhere near the Trump cabinet. But you know, you still got those folks out there who are saying shit about RFK, who are saying shit about Tulsi Gabbard. It's like understand, the only reason why you can sit in your freaking passenger Princess seat right now and talk all this shit is because those people helped us win in the swing states. It was at two to 3% RFK bump that delivered Trump victory and delivered victory for a lot of Republicans. The Mark, the dip, the we only won Pennsylvania by 2% keep that in mind, if RFK had been on the ballot, RFK is not looking at half a million votes. He's looking at coming in third place, ahead of Jill Stein. We're looking at probably 1.5 to 3 million. So I mean, these people, I just there are no words. We've got to primary them. It never ends. We just got to go after them. We've gotta, we've gotta salt the Earth. We have to burn the boats. And we need to get to the point where it's like, you can't do this shit. You can't do this shit. This is not the same. This is not the same.

what he did, by the way, once he made money as a floor level day trader, he started his own firm, and that firm he started was entirely focused on big picture economic policies, specifically reducing regulation, lowering taxes. No, however, based on my pretty deep digging over the past 24 hours into this guy, um, he's a dude who worked at a company that we don't like, and He then left that company and started his own company based on things we do, like, um, I've worked at companies that I didn't like. I'll be very real for a second. I don't know why he's turning to Trump here in my arms, I work for a nonprofit. Let me explain here. I worked for a nonprofit back in 2015 I was one of their fundraising directors for the Mid Atlantic and the organization itself. What like their mission was almost antithetical to libertarianism, small l libertarianism, in the mindset that they were trying to help put policy in place to help prevent lung disease, right? So very, very much focused on smoking cessation, eliminating smoking in teens, you know, talking about the dangers of smoking and vape, but also trying to enact legislation. I was there for about seven months, namely because I got burnt the F out, because I was, like, one of the only fundraising guys in the area. But also I looked at the mission and I wasn't really on board with. So does that make me a, you know, a nonprofit leftist plant, because I worked for an organization in 2015 for seven months, I guess so, based on this logic here. And again, I'm not, I'm not excusing away any real bad things that Scott besset may have supported, or currently does support, but it is important for us to at least take the narrative. And by the way, this is where I get so frustrated with so many of our friends in the libertarian camps, right because they are so confident in how much they know based on the bullshit headlines that they will quickly read. I read Scott Besson, former Soros man, hedge fund manager, joining Trump administration as Treasury secretary. What narrative is being presented there. Look at that. You idiots. You guys got fooled. You're getting a George Soros guy. You read the articles and you find out, Oh, he's just a dude who worked for a company for a little bit, left that company decades ago, started his own company and has been promoting policies and stuff that we've been, you know, promoting on our end for the past 1015, years. Yeah, this

This was actually, no, I'm not gonna say this was a controversial episode, but I remember I got shit about this in like 2017 I was on felony Fridays, on lines of liberty, of John oder. Man, John oder man, my boy, yeah, and John and I were talking about the the appointment of Jeff Sessions. And I lived in Alabama. I don't like Jeff Sessions, but you know, for of all the people that could have been appointed to that seat, I act, you know, that that that position as Attorney General, I actually thought that Jeff Sessions was not the worst. Was he my first choice? No, but do I think he was going to be a net negative? I didn't actually think so. And what I told John at the time was, you know, I was wrong about Trump on a lot of things, and I'm wrong about a lot of things all the time. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to watch Jeff Sessions, who I actually, you know, having lived in Alabama, have kind of seen things a little bit more up close compared to some people. If he's good, he's good, if he's not good, then hopefully he'll get replaced. And what ended up happening, Jeff Sessions actually turned out to be a really shitty Attorney General, by Trump's own admission. And what did he do? He kicked out Jeff Sessions, and he brought in that other dude that kind of looks like a walrus, like you know that that guy was, it wasn't Pompeo. No, it wasn't Pompeo because Pompeo was, what was, was CIA, and then he was SEC def,

And you know, where Trump showed some hubris, was on the Joe Rogan podcast a week before the election, and he said that he made mistakes because he listened to too many people, because he didn't know how to form a government like we have to accept that this is not just, you know, this is not Trump day one. This is not Trump day two. This is Trump who, by all technicality, should have walked in for a second term in 2020. Has had four years to really gestate this shit, and now he has a better idea of what he wants. I might not understand it, but we should at least give him a chance, especially seeing how he came and delivered, and how we actually have a chance to figure things out. So my thing is, and I go back to hegseth, I do not believe that. You know, in my in my remzo fantasy world, Pete hegseth is not even the name I consider. But if Donald Trump thinks that Pete hegseth will make a good SEC def, let him try. Because what's the worst that'll happen? Oh, he might not be good, and he gets replaced. All these people. None of these people were. Talking about right now are going to be here by 2026 at least three quarters of them will be gone.

All right, ramzo, we're gonna quickly transition here, because, again, it is 2024 we can do what we want. We're gonna transition over to one more appointee for the Trump cabinet. Before we do that, though, we need to compare and contrast, because I think where we are today, right? We're on the 23rd of November, as we're recording today. The fifth of November was just a few short weeks ago. I already am seeing folks specifically on the right side of the aisle, squishy middle of the aisle, starting to not remember why the Democrats lost so badly and why there was such a push for folks like a Donald Trump and some more common sense across the board.
