JD Vance since we last connected has been tapped as Trump's VP nominee heading into the November election and naturally, lots of folks have thoughts so I said why not have someone who I really appreciate their thoughts and also he's a dear friend. How about our good friend Renzo Martinez. So Ramsey has returned here the show talking all things JD Vance. Renzo? What's up my friend? How are you Ben?

Remso Martinez  1:48
Brian, why is it we only talk to each other when something horrible in the world is happening?

Brian Nichols  1:54
Oh, yeah. Oh, okay. In the room, I forgot to mention that someone tried to kill Trump. I don't know how I completely skipped that on top of adding that he has a VP Yeah. What is this rim so it's always something bad in the world is happening when we connect.

Remso Martinez  2:07
I you know, that wasn't on my bingo card. Honestly, I was thinking alien invasion. Before this. I was thinking like a lot of things like climate change, lockdown. You know, zebras meet with horses. I mean, just a lot of other like ridiculous things. But here we are. I was literally, I was flying home from Las Vegas. I was just at Freedom Fest for work. And as I showed up at my apartment, my wife goes ahead and pulls out her phone. I even I love you, honey, all that stuff. It was someone's shot at Trump. And I was like, what? And? Yeah, it's been like, I did not no, it didn't really hit me until like earlier this year that the RNC was going to be in Milwaukee. So 15 minutes away from where I live at the Pfizer forum. And it just really kind of settled because Brian, when I moved out here four years ago, I made it very clear to people on my own podcast on the run, I'm done, you're done. Like, I don't care. And then everything decided to follow me. And here they are in Milwaukee. In the we're in where the Bucs play in the whole country is focusing on Wisconsin right now. This is one of the like, this is this is kind of like, you know, the beginning of Star Wars Rogue One where they're like, look at you, what are you doing if your talents and Jenner says Dad is like, it's a simple life. It's like, that's where I feel right now. But this is, this is wild. I went ahead and wrote probably one of my first long political op eds in five years as a banger five years. And I wrote it over amp america.com. Because, you know, to go from where we were Saturday with the idea that they were that some crazy liberal was going to go ahead and take out, you know, a potential returning president, not nonetheless, just a former president, but are returning President days before the convention. And then for Trump to go ahead and double down and bring out probably the most populist right wing conservative, south of like freaking Barry Goldwater in 1964. To be his presidential, you know, VP pick, is just, we're living in a movie, the living in a movie, and within minutes of him being announced, the amount of people I knew the left was gonna go ahead and attack him. And you know, Biden's cans, you know, line of attack on Twitter, calling out JD Vance, and we all know that his team prepped for like seven other people and that was his female, like 1919 year old intern that tweeted out that was expected, but the amount of vitriol coming from conservatives and libertarians towards vans, that that told me all I needed to know. And, you know, people, you know, like my wife didn't know who he was. I was having coffee with a local business owner today and she didn't know too much about Vance. I think America is about to fall in love with this man. I Yeah, there's a

Brian Nichols  5:01
lot to unpack with with JD Vance's historic or historical history rather, as it relates to almost like the pre politics era for him. And this goes more into the cultural side of things that you're talking about in Hillbilly Elegy. I mean, that was his book that was then later turned into a movie starring Glenn coast. Glenn Close, right.

Remso Martinez  5:22
Grandma, and Amy from Man of Steel, forget her. Yeah. Amy Adams. Amy Adams. Yeah. But

Brian Nichols  5:28
like, at the end of the day, JD Vance is much more than a political figure it also just want to take a step back to and you mentioned the Libertarians and conservatives getting Trump crap because of his choice. Well, elephant the room, Republicans and rather than the libertarian friends out there, and some of the conservative friends, they're gonna give Trump crap, regardless of who he chose, he could have chosen the vague and from a principle standpoint, I would have been cheering from the rafters. But there would also have been the folks who have been like, oh, well, vaches bad on XY and Z. So there's always going to be those folks who are the focus entirely and solely on the ISM on the principles and that's fine. That's your role, play that role. But that's not where I am. I know. That's not where you are in Rome. So I think it just comes down to you and I are sitting here and much like I'd say a large group of folks in the continental United States, I'd say in the world right now. Just looking at the moment that we're in, right, like, this isn't the same game that we were playing in 2017. I mean, shit go back to when you and I first connected in 2015, like 10 years later, this is not the same game that was being played. They just tried to take Trump out and when you watch Trump being introduced at the RNC, I mean, like Trump is one of the most just like bloviating. You know, just just pompous, eccentric people you'll ever meet. And there was just something different about him walking in with league Greenwoods. God bless the USA playing in the background, here comes Trump, he's walking in wearing his suit at per usual, he's got the big gauze on his ear from the bullet wound from the attempted assassination. And there was just this somberness you could feel when he was walking in. And there was one moment, dude, and like, I'm not wanting to bring my personal emotions into our political discourse. But there was one moment that just it really it tugged at my heartstrings a little bit. And that was the moment when Don Jr, reached over to shake his dad's hand when he got up to the standing area. And you can just you could feel it. Like, this wasn't just a son there supporting his dad who's running for elected office. This was also someone who almost lost his dad. Right and understanding what is happening right now. And I think this is where for me, when I look at the JD Vance pick, yes, we are coming full circle. I think I have to take a step back from my libertarian friends, and just remind them of where we are right now. Like this, this is not the same arena that we were in back in 2015, not the same arena we were in in 2019. Heck, Ramsey Oh, you and I did a podcast right when the pandemic started. And this isn't even the same ballpark arena that you and I were having a conversation back then. And this is a different world. We've seen now you have what 10 years of media just constantly saying Trump is the next Hitler. He's the end of the American experiment. He's the worst thing in the world since name, your favorite tyrant across history like that has quite obviously led to a moment where we are today. We're so many folks. And this is the part that really makes me sick. So many folks are not only excusing away the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, but I mean, starting to layer in conspiracy theories starting to layer in that, oh, he shouldn't have missed like Kayo gas from Tenacious D, saying, Oh, don't miss next time, right? Like stuff like that. And I looked at my friends on the right. And I say, Guys, when people tell you who they are, believe them, they're telling you who they are. It's on us now to take them at their words and take them seriously versus just taking a step back and trying to play our own little game. Now. I know I just sent a lot there, Remo but like, I just I find myself in this, this situation right now where it feels like we're trying you and I are trying to play you know, a game of like roulette and everybody else is playing checkers, right? Like we understand the severity if we pull the trigger at the wrong time, it's lights out, whereas the other folks, they don't view it that way. They're just like, Ah, it's a fun little game. This is the same thing I've been doing. For 1015 20 years. I'm playing politics not realizing that it isn't a game anymore. It never really was a game to begin with. And now we're at the point where I need y'all to stop playing the stupid little game you're playing and get on board with what's actually happening. I'll get off my soapbox. Where did I get things wrong? Where did I get things right? Hit me with it.

Remso Martinez  9:49
I love your soapbox. You can you can keep going like a Southern Baptist preacher Brian but like, this is this is one of those things where it's like, you know, and So look at Vance, the big criticism I see a lot of is well, he didn't like him in 2016. And he said, I didn't like him in 2016. Anyone can Google 2016 Ronzo. And they're not going to find anything remotely positive at all. And you know, this idea across, you know, eight years, almost a decade that people aren't going to see what happens. You know, I made a promise to listeners on my original podcast, and I went ahead and said, that I'm gonna look at him for how he governs. And I have very low standards. And what did he do? He exceeded all of them. Was he perfect? No. And when I tell people, he's the most libertarian president in my lifetime, that's not me calling him a libertarian. I wouldn't apply that. I'm just applying him to the standard that we had no new wars, deregulation, the best economy of my lifetime. One of my favorite quotes is when he was dealing with the situation and in Syria and some reporter in the White House press room was like, you know, you might get a peace prize for negotiating, you know, peace and he was like peace is the prize. He said that off the cuff. I mean, he's not a man who's stupid. And has he made mistakes? Absolutely. I really did not necessarily want him to be the nominee again, because my biggest thing was, I felt like he fumbled the lockdowns, I was like, I felt that he gave us Anthony Fauci. He did not fight against the lock downs hard enough, I was really upset with Operation warp speed, I felt like he surrounded himself with some really horrible people. So I was willing to give really anybody a chance, Ron DeSantis, even Robert F. Kennedy Jr. When he got the nomination, it became very clear that, you know, something was changing. Something was changing after he won the primary. And I was like, why did he avoid all the debates, and it became very clear that you know, he's not going to go ahead, and you know, fight the people he needs to work with, because if he wanted to go up there, I still think he would have won the nomination, I think he would have been drained of resources been drained of time, he kept the attention on him, he avoided it. I think he was showing them mercy. Because what the truth is, is that he needs all of them, he needs everyone to go ahead and fight Joe Biden at this point. And that became very clear, they call them cowardly. I call them tactical. And now here we are, where people were still really hesitant. But you know, a person who is very solid, or, you know, the conspiratorial minded people like Trump's a plant, all this other stuff, you know, I'm seeing people say that the sniper situation was staged, it was ketchup. There wasn't like he was a teenager, like, he wasn't like a train like CIA operator or something like that. Like, give me a break. If you look at the video, you have to say that the most egotistical man in America, the world told somebody to take a shot at his face. And he timed it perfectly for that to get shot. Like, don't go cry me a river with that stuff you just don't like and then just admit it. But for that to happen. I still believe and I could be wrong about this. I don't believe that Vance was number one. I believe that, like what many of the insiders are saying was that it was Doug Burgum. Yep, I think it was Doug Burgum until Saturday afternoon. And at that point, what do we have? We have people saying that Nikki Haley was going to try and take a last minute jump at the nomination. If we have Haley, I still think we have a Haley Burgum ticket. I think a lot of people looked at that. And they were like, Okay, we need to go ahead and make a plan faster, because we need to get rid of him. Because like I said, this, this hasn't been normal. There's a reason why he went to the libertarian National Convention. There's a reason why he's going to the Bitcoin Conference. There's a reason why he's having Amber Rhodes, and the President of the teamsters union speak at the RNC. It's because this is not a normal election. And this is not a normal Republican Party. And my problem with libertarians and I saw this just witnessing a lot of panels at Freedom Fest last week. I mean, the the timing of events, for me is just like, I'm feeling very weird about a lot of things. I feel like I was meant to see a lot of things as they're going on. And the thing is with libertarians as I think they're irrelevant at this point, and I say this, because they think that they want to make a world where everyone thinks like them, or if we put on seminars and panels everyone's gonna think like us. But you know what, what the RNC showed, is that the RNC is probably more open minded than most of the open minded thinkers in the world each year. And it's it we have to accept the fact that we live in a country with people who are not like us, and people who are who will never be like us. But what we need to do is we need to fight for the chance for opportunity. We need to fight for the chance for people to have an equal playing field. We need to fight for people's individual liberties, to be wrong, but to coexist peacefully. And that's what this has come down to. So why does this come back to Vance? And why am I getting so pissed off when I see people going after him? Because JD Vance I feel was the ultimate middle finger to the establishment. I think he was the ultimate middle finger to a lot of people and that Trump has set him up a man who's not even in his 50s he set him up to go ahead and continue this moment because he knows that when he does win in November, and he comes back, he's going to have to take the wrecking ball To the establishment, he's gonna go after the Department of Education, the CIA, the FBI, the entire deep state. They tried to. They tried to defame him. They tried to bankrupt him. They tried to stick him in jail. And now somebody has actually gone and tried to kill him. Do you think this is a man who's messing around? So while he does that Vance is going to be set up. And I don't think he's a Dan Quayle type. I don't think he's a Paul Ryan's i This man is he did not need politics to be a successful purse. Correct. And the fact that he is in the spot he is and now Tucker Carlson said it in a way that I couldn't even you know, conceptualize it, which is, instead of telling you the things that I like about JD Vance, let me tell you about the things that people don't like. And he started listing them off. And I got to the point where I'm like, it shows you a lot because why are they attacking him? You've got like very weird, right wing racist who are saying, well, you know, he's married to an Indian and it's like, what? What are you saying? Save a loud, save, save, save the creepy, angry part out loud, just say it. They're saying, you know, he he changed his mind on Trumble name somebody who hasn't changed their mind on something, especially in the public sphere. They're saying, you know that he's not qualified because he's a junior senator. He's not qualified because he doesn't have the strict academic background, forgetting that he was a Yale scholar who ran a business and I'm seeing all these, you know, the Brad Palumbo 's of the world whose only job was working at Subway, going after a man who had a very financial career who became a best selling author. It's like, you know, it's very easy to jump from a soap box of, you know, online faux popularity, and stuff like that. But this is a man who lived in the real world. And he didn't have an easy, there was no trust funds. There was nothing there. There was a man who grew up in a rural mining town in Ohio, whose father wasn't there and whose mom was addicted to painkillers and a grandmother who was almost too old to take care of him. But she did. He went and served in the Marine Corps. He came back, got a scholarship. I think it was a scholarship, but he got his way through to Yale, the white trash kid, the Redneck hillbilly made his way to Yale. And then he wrote a national best selling memoir that showed people about the plight of white poverty in America, which in my Op Ed, I admit, I believe that that was a myth. And so I moved to rural Alabama, and I saw it, and that's something that still impacts people, it breaks my heart because what shows is that the American dream is not equal for everyone in this country, unless we see ourselves in a future where we can be part of it. And that goes for everyone. Black, white, Latino, Asian. It's a hard struck fact that there are people in America that feel left out of the American dream, and that's heartbreaking. And JD Vance came from that, and he didn't need to run for Senate. Much like how Donald Trump could have been like, you know, on a yacht with his supermodels and everything else, but he's dodging bullets. Now. This isn't the same. So while I was definitely, you know, voting Trump in November, if anything now I'm voting for Trump to secure a JD Vance presidency, I'm looking for 16 years of making this country as powerful, as amazing and as free as we possibly dreamed of because the bullshit is done people. Like we can't play this game anymore. You saw what's going on the president, the person pretending to be the president, or the person who is Joe Biden is not in charge. This is Obama 3.0. And it's going to be worse, we're going to weaken ourselves abroad, we're going to weaken our enemies. While we're at it, we're going to strengthen people that have the exact opposite of America's interests at heart. And the people who are being left behind are going to see themselves in a country they do not recognize or feel part of.

Brian Nichols  18:50
I mean, for three and a half weeks, Remo could you have a better a better track record. From a candidate standpoint. I mean, Trump first and foremost goes to the debate doesn't have to necessarily beat Joe Biden he just lets Joe Biden the standing corpse beat himself. Then after that it was just a week plus of is Joe Biden going to drop out Democratic leadership trying to get him to drop out commentators across the board in the left trying to get him to drop out and he's he's pulling his Jordan Bell for fucking lead and he's standing there on he said it like and all of a sudden, you fast forward to what just happened over this past week and Trump get literally takes a bullet tragically see someone lose their life and in the audience, and then you fast forward to now Trump at the RNC choosing his VP candidate. I mean, and by the way, the VP candidate back to your point, I think it was just decided on, like, within the past few days, I think you're absolutely right. I very much like you thought it was going to be a Doug Burgum or someone there in you know, somebody who has the war chest

Remso Martinez  19:59
neocon If you pick a if you pick a conservative or somebody who's not remotely you know, like mainstream, you pick like a neocon like a George HW Bush, and that's vice versa if you pick some if you pick a nominee, he's very establishment. You go for a Paul Ryan SIPE, who can at least throw out a couple Tea Party platitudes here and there. Yep.

Brian Nichols  20:18
And that's what the rumor was, if it was not Doug Burgum. It was someone like a Marco Rubio. Right. And you'd mentioned him by name Tucker Carlson. He's playing a huge role here because it was released. I think just this past couple hours ago, that Tucker Carlson, he gave Trump a phone call afterwards and was like, Hey, you got to look at JD Vance as your guy because Marco Rubio is way too, buddy buddy cozy with the neocon establishment. Tucker Carlson took it a step further and said he will probably try to have the job finished take you out so he can take over and that's the neocon playbook. And vice versa. You don't want to have any useful idiots who aren't, they're just going to and I'm not going to pick on pence too much here. But during the end of the the pence, administration as VP, I mean, he was more or less just he was there. He wasn't really doing anything of substance. And I think they they look at JD Vance, to your point, not just as someone who can go in as a bulldog. He's smart, he's articulate, and he he's principled, whether you agree with those principles or not. He has values, he has principles, and we can talk about those. You know, Frank, frankly, we're as a libertarian, I disagree with him some of the principles and that's okay. And we'll talk about that. But also, Tucker's point was that JD Vance more or less serves as assassination insurance, right? Because if Trump is taken out, both literally and figuratively speaking, what's next? Right, it would be someone like a JD Vance, who would would take over and I mean, Remco. You look down the road, who else do we have as possible, folks to carry this mantle forward? Beyond JD Vance? I see folks out there, like have a vague Ramaswamy right, who you could easily be the person to take over and 2028 We're not for JD Vance. Now basically having the just open runway to go to the next nomination. Should he so choose to take that? So I mean, I think we're looking at where we are right now. And going back to the Libertarians out there, that conservative talking heads out there who they have to find faults with something anything that Trump does, which, by the way, I've many a time here on the show, much like you Rambo, I've critiqued Trump, I critique Trump for his COVID responses. I critique Trump, much like you were articulating about the folks he surrounded himself with. I was very interested in seeing Ron DeSantis primary against Trump, not because I thought Ron DeSantis was a better candidate, but because on what DeSantis did during COVID, I thought was so important. But going back to you know, yeah, there are issues I disagree with, with JD Vance on I don't like the economic nationalism, like like he champions a lot. I know there's some social conservatism stuff that I am not as 100% on board with, though I personally am very socially conservative. I try to keep that a little bit separate from policy. But I look at JD Vance. And it could have been vague. It could have been anybody. It has to be someone though, who understands the moment we are in, right. And that is where I think so many folks in our camp on our side of the aisle and a lot of folks on the other side of the aisle they just do not either willingly understand it, or there's something nefarious right in the back end, right Rambo and that is I think, where a lot of folks are getting tired of it because it comes across so transparently as fake like, Oh, you're hating him because you've been told to that's your next step. Okay, I got you you're not a serious person. You're virtue signaling you're you're showing the people who are paying your bills. I'm saying the right thing. People are tired of that people are so done with the bullshit do they want authenticity? They want real and even if you're going to tell them something that you disagree with, like at least be transparent with they don't do like the politician wordsmith thing where you disagree with them but then you make it sound really good and like we're all Americans rah rah just be transparently honest with them like the vague there's that one time during the the primaries dude, he he's talking to this one just just rabid leftists at his town hall. She's she's wearing a mask, she's got like 13 color, different hair, screaming at him about where Vivek is wrong and XY and Z. Instead of doing the thing I think most of us would want to do is they get that person out of here get this scream, Screaming Banshee away. He instead engaged with her and was able to have a conversation with her and was very point blank like, Hey, I don't agree with your your starting off point. But here's what I actually do believe in and articulate his vision in such a way that the lady said, Oh, okay, I see it, I get it. You can help get rid of the bullshit. If you yourself stop with the bullshit, right? Like we have to be the change in terms of how we're communicating. And frankly how we're approaching the world that we see right now, both in terms of policy and politics, because, dude, if we're not going to play the game as it's being played, and we're gonna just keep, again, going back and playing our own little game of checkers, while everybody else is playing their own new game, of course, we're going to lose, of course, we're going to keep losing and not have a seat at the table. If you always try to do things, the way you've been doing things, you're gonna get the same results. So sorry, folks, this is why we have to have this conversation. Because if we don't, we're gonna get more of the same. And I don't think our country can afford that, especially with where we are as a country, man.

Remso Martinez  25:34
Even more so people need to look beyond just Vance, they need to know like what Vance represents in terms of people that aid them. And what this did was this guaranteed a lot of Trump promises that people can't say, it appears like he's going to back out of what we're getting out of Ukraine, we're done with that shit, that ends that ends, we are out of that money laundering, you know, meet your

Brian Nichols  25:57
100 billion dollars, Jesus, but it's not

Remso Martinez  26:01
just the money. It's half a million Ukrainian and Russian men between the ages of 18 and 45. Who are dead? Yep, they're dead. And what they're probably gonna do, and they've already started talking about this, is they have to fill the population, or who were they going to fill the population with what they've been doing in Europe, I wonder, we're gonna go ahead and fill Ukraine with a bunch of people from like North Africa and stuff like that, is that the wrong thing to do, you want go ahead and flood them in there. So then what you have is you have another, you know, like progressive nanny state that's going to go ahead and just perpetuate the terror and the problems that we're seeing on the citizenry throughout eastern Western Europe. So that's what's gonna happen. So you know, what Trump's gonna do, like the money is one thing. And you know, what, when we look at the lives lost, and the lives that are continued to be lost every day, and this is like, look at Russia, in the military, we had to understand it's like for every father, we kill now, there's a son who's going to think about killing us later. And what we need to do right now is we need to start thinking is, okay, what we have done is we've we've put Russia back in a situation where they're actually looking at thermonuclear war against the United States. Do I want somebody that can sit down with Putin and prevent that from happening? So millions of people globally don't have to die? Yes, absolutely. Because yeah, but Renzo Putin,

Brian Nichols  27:20
Putin is evil. Putin is the worst person ever besides Trump, right? Isn't that the mentality we're supposed to have? And by the way, I'm being facetious. Obviously, this is the problem with doomsday politics that the media has been playing for how many years now? Because when it's the boy who cried wolf, right when Trump is the next coming of Hitler, when Trump is the end of our democracy, when when Trump is in bed with Russia, like all of these narratives, that we were just constantly peppered with year in and year out, both before Trump was President, when he was president. And after he was president, there comes a point. And I, by the way, I think I'm seeing this right now, and this is why I'm so confident and say this is that your average person just tunes that shit out. Like my father in law. He was kind of on the fence during the Trump administration. He's a Republican, but more of like, I would say, a moderate Republican. After Saturday, my man is radicalized, okay, maybe not radicalized, but like he's, he's 100%. Like on the Trump Train, not even questioning it. And he was gonna vote for Trump beforehand, but this is just one of those things. He's gonna perfect Trump even harder. 100 But he got push them button so freaking hard. And I'm gonna know how many votes we're going through. And he's in Pennsylvania. So I'm sure that that does something to the voting machine that makes them have like 17 votes. I digress, we'll go ahead and we'll ping Kliff to see if you can help fix that when he's doing his PHAs. But that right there, right, like I look at my father in law, I've used him many times during the show as like my representation of your average voter like, they he's a nurse, right? So he works crazy. 12 hour days, driving an hour to work our back. So like, his breaking down to the news is literally like quick reading of the news headlines on the iPad, make hits home, maybe tossing a podcast here and there while he's driving to work. But other than that, that's that's the context. And for people like him. This like this past few years has just been so transparently awful from what the left is doing, leveraging these tools of power in in government, and then what they had been doing to go after their political opponents, whether you you agree with the prosecution's of Trump or not like the fact that you could just have any administration be like, hey, go after your political opponent right now. Do what I say. That's super like banana republic stuff, and your average person sees it, it's transparently corrupt. And once you see it, you can't unsee it right. Like the picture of Trump having the blood coming down his face, you can't unsee that you can't unsee Trump literally moments after being shot pumping his fist saying Fight, fight fight. Like you can't unsee that stuff. There's a really funny video I share this girl. She's doing like one of those tech talks where she's having a conversation. They talked about Trump getting shots. He's like, Yeah, he looked really cool getting shot. How do you look cool getting shot? He's she's like, What do you do? Did he get shot and then immediately stand up start chanting Fight, fight, fight USA and a crowd of 1000s of people erupt into the same thing. Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Oh, that is pretty cool. Yeah, we're after aren't we like that. And that right there, I think is where your average person is rooms, though. So I say all that I know already hard pressed for time here, my man. So do us a favor, bring us home? What should people take away from this conversation? I mean, I know we talked about a lot today. But moving forward, what are some key takeaways? And what are some call to actions that folks should really carry forward? Not just into next week, but into the election and beyond? Man, because this if we if we stop paying attention? She's gonna get weird. So what say you register to

Remso Martinez  30:58
vote and vote Republican? Wards? I never thought I would say immediately. I've voted in four years. I haven't. No, I haven't. And now I am. And, you know, I'm hitting that ticket as red as I want. And if I don't like some of these people, I'm voting down. Well, you know, I'm just primary them later, but like, the shit has to stop. This has to stop what Vance has shown is that Trump is coming in with a wrecking ball. And that these people who are trying to actively work against the interests of the American people, they're out of a job. Do I think we're gonna see miracles in the next term? I'm not saying that. But what I do know is that something has to stop something has to end the years of the GOP being just the less progressive wing of the Democratic Party. That's got to stop I saw somebody some conservative commentator, they're like, people who don't like the Trump fans, ticket. Academics, Reagan Republicans, free marketeers, you know, the old old school Republicans and they're like, you know, who likes it, like homeschool and PTA moms Turning Point kids, you know, like, nationalist libertarians or whatever. And I'm just like, okay, so you don't like it leave? Get out of the way. And this is this is it now because the GOP, I was having a conversation, my wife never accomplished anything in my life until Trump came. You just just look at the scoreboard. That's what people need to see Trump Vance 2024, get out and vote. If you don't have a plan to vote on Election Day. There's plenty of options. People make a plan, get out. The shit ends here.

Brian Nichols  32:30
No more useful idiots. My final thought for today literally no more useful idiots. I talked about this a few episodes ago. I'm so tired of the folks who they they just they want to argue, right? And by the way, what's one of my main little things here in the show, instead of focusing on winning arguments, and I see this all the time, like they try to play the ISM game, right? They try to well, you know what, I'll give you a real life example, one of my one of our mutual buddies, whose name will remain nameless for the show, because I know he listens. I posted something about like immigration. And it being a very real issue. Like when I was visiting family in Northern New York, they're having folks come over the border from the Canadian border. And I posted a or I shared a post that somebody had shared North Country, and it was a picture of people walking across your yard. And their response was, Oh, where are they? What are they looking for work? Like, what were they gonna do go to the local Home Depot? Or oh, it's a walk of shame. Like, ah, it's college kids just completely Pooh poohing and dismissing it. And that, right, they're like, Okay, I see if you want to score a game, like you're gonna score a point in the game. No more useful idiots. I'm sorry. Like, I respect you. I love you as a person. But I don't look at you as a political ally. I don't look at you as not just a political ally, just an ally in general, like, Yes, I will be nice to you. Yes, I will like you. Yes, I will be friendly with you. But when the shit hits the fan, I'm not looking to you to have my back. As a matter of fact, I might be looking to know where you work. I don't trust you. And I don't trust that you're going to have my back because you you can only just dismiss people's very real concerns for so long. And so many folks, they just they've had their concerns dismissed. And to your point, like, who are the folks that support JD Vance. And who are the folks who don't, right, like it's just this? Oh, it's the intellectuals. It's the folks who are smart. It's the folks who are educated. They're the ones who don't support JD Vance. And it's the it's the losers. It's the homeschoolers. It's the turning point, kids. It's the nationalist libertarians who dare think that country matters like those. Those are the losers who support JD Vance. And that's the mentality. That's the approach they just dismiss. They don't even want to engage with the conversation because that might actually make them think so. Ramza I can't agree more. No more useful idiots. If you are a useful idiot and you find yourself saying that sounds like me. Take a moment and maybe a reevaluate your life. Go back and listen to a few episodes of The Brian Nichols Show, we talk about why you should not be a useful idiot and how to approach issues that really matter in a way that's more open, empathetic and understanding. And then with that, do something with it. Right, like stop just sitting online, and virtue signaling and sitting in your ivory tower saying like, well, I have figured out the world's problems through the confines of my Facebook group. Good luck, if you can solve the world's problems through the confines of your Facebook, more power to you without a doubt, but you know what, I got a sneaking suspicion you're full of shit. So I want to challenge you to instead of sitting on your your, your porcelain throne, as you're responding to all these different posts about how right you are and how wrong or how, how stupid these rooms are. Maybe do something different. Get out, get involved, get engaged, talk to real people outside of your Echo Chamber, I know surprising. Remzi. So with that being said, I want folks to be able to go ahead and find you and continue the conversation. So I'm sure for the new folks who have joined the audience in the past year or so this is the first time they're hearing you on the show. So they're like who is this Remo guy, he's got some good stuff to say. And for the folks who are longtime listeners are like thank God rims as back we need to have some more common sense here in the show. So where can folks go ahead and support you, my friend? And also where can folks go ahead and learn more about what's that say? Amp? America? What's that? America

Remso Martinez  36:26
go to amp america.com or amp American news on X people because the conversation the fun ain't stopping. And we ain't stopping either. Go ahead and follow me on Instagram at go rams. Oh, my ex account is Hey, rams. Oh, Google me. That's my challenge people. You don't know me, Google me. Brian.

Brian Nichols  36:44
Are you channeling your inner Biden? Project? 2025. Google it, man. Google it.

Unknown Speaker  36:50
Come on.

Brian Nichols  36:53
Come on, man. No malarkey. Dude, if I ever get to that point where my brain is just mashed potatoes. And I think that I'm able to coherently articulate my ideas I asked you to please just pull me aside and say, Brian, you're doing the Biden again,

Remso Martinez  37:09
you're doing the one thing I'll say one thing I'll say to cap it off is like I made a vow. Many years ago, I was done talking politics. I was done talking partisan politics. And for four years, I did that for four years, I left DC, I left a career in media behind. I had to build up I was in the private sector. Now I run a business. I'm a leader in my community. And I very much stayed out of it. And now I'm looking at the point where it's like everything that I've tried to build back up in my life, I fear it's going to be taken away. And you know, I saw it happen. The government went after me. The media went after me. They went after my friends, they tried to put people that I admire in jail. Yep, they've tried to make this so that way, it's like, I sought peace, I was gonna remove myself from the argument, you guys can fight and I'm just gonna survive. But you know what, it just there comes a point where you just can't let people get away with it. And I'm a small potato and a big world. But you know, I think for people that know me, they know that I was a person that was on the front lines of a lot of the political and cultural fights. I've been behind the scenes guy in media, nonprofits entertainment, in many things, like I wrote, you know, two fucking books about this. Like, you know, I'm not nobody, I'm not nobody, and my professional life has been impacted by this. Thank God for the better because I've got my freedom as an entrepreneur, and I've got great friends and great people that take care of me, and I hope I can take care of them. But this is this is an evolution. And somebody's gonna say, well, Remco in 2017, and April, you said this, I'm like, you'll fuck yourself, because I'm done. And I'm here to make Donald Trump and JD Vance, the next President and Vice President of the United States. Ramsey

Brian Nichols  38:48
Oh, I love you. You're a dear friend, I am so thankful that you are in my life. You are just an incredible human being I cannot believe that you and I have known each other for almost a decade at this point and have worked together in some way shape or form for almost a decade at this point, time travels way too fast. But also when I look back, we got some really cool war stories together. We got some really cool skins in the wall, we can look back and talk about and did it just looking at where we started to where we are today. I never thought that we would be in this spot that you and I are in right now. But man, it just it is it is kind of funny like here I'll get a little introspective I guess like God has a lot of different plans mapped out for us and we don't really know where those plans will lead us. Like I found myself many times much like any other practicing Christian saying, we do in this like what what are we doing here God and and there are people that God will bring into my life, people God will take away from my life. And I know that there's a reason for it. I know he's got a reason for it. And I just gotta say, my man, like, I know that there's 100% a reason that God brought us together because you got it figured out. I don't want to say I have it figured I'm trying, I'm getting there to figure it out. But at the end of the day, to be able to have these conversations, understand where we are in the world, and frankly, in terms of where we are in our history, like, it's on us, I always think about this, I when I was growing up, you'd have something bad happen. And you'd be like, I need an adult. Adult, and then and then you grow up, and bad things happen. And you're like, I need that. I'm, you know, I'm the adult. And that was the moment for me, I think really, like it hit me that Oh, okay. There is no one coming to save you. You have to be the change you want to see in the world. And to have folks like you who can help me on that mission who you have a very, very similar mission yourself. It makes it a lot easier because you don't have to, like sit down and say, okay, Rosa, what do you believe on X y&z Oh, okay, he disagrees on this we got to work on we got to get rims are better on that. It's like, no, no, I know that there are things you believe that I might be a little questionable on and vice versa. And that's okay. That's actually encouraged because it is the differences that really make us so so special, special. But at the end of the day, it is those differences that we're able to overcome in our friendship that we need to relearn as a society like just because I disagree with you on a policy point, like it doesn't mean I hate you. And I know there's a lot of folks out there who they do hate, they absolutely do hate. I hope that we can at least set an example Rambo of how to have conversations. Now, obviously, you and I are more on the same political side of things that makes it a little bit easier, but to be able to show folks who and by the way elephant in the room like I've had my friend circle change drastically over the past 10 Five years, specifically during COVID. dudes who are at my wedding, in in my wedding, haven't heard from in years and like to see that very, very eye opening, but also to see folks like you who you'll continue to be just good people. And what do we say here in The Brian Nichols Show, which I learned from my good ol CEO back in the day Mike Dillard, good people, bring out the good people. So we need more good people. And with that, I'm going to put a pin in today's conversation. Roberto Martinez is always a pleasure having you on the show. Please go ahead support Remo follow him at Hey, Renzo.
